Ernst Steyer

Ernst Leberecht Steyer (born August 3, 1842 in Naundorf near Freiberg, † September 7, 1900 in Plauen near Dresden) was a German conservative politician .

Live and act

Steyer first attended elementary school in Naundorf before he switched to the community school in Freiberg for two years . He completed two years of training at the trade school in Chemnitz and two years of agricultural training. He initially worked as a manager for six years before purchasing a farm in Reinholdshain in the Eastern Ore Mountains in 1865 . In 1852/53 he enjoyed further training at the Tharandt Agricultural Academy . He took over the mill estate in Naundorf that his father had previously owned. In a by-election for the late MP Ernst Kleber , he was elected in the 13th rural constituency in the second chamber of the Saxon state parliament in 1885. He resigned from this office in 1899. From 1893 to 1896 he was also a deputy member of the administrative board and from 1896 until his death member of the board of directors of the Agricultural Credit Association in the Kingdom of Saxony .

His brothers Heinrich Steyer (1834-1887) and Philipp Steyer (1839-1907) were also conservative members of the state parliament .
