history
The Reinholdshain, first mentioned in 1445 as "Reinolczhain" (= clearing settlement of Reinhold) is laid out as a forest hoof village. An abandoned medieval moated castle in the village is dated around 1200 to 1250.
The manorial rule over the village lay with the manor Dippoldiswalde. In 1569 Reinholdshain belonged to the Dippoldiswalde office , from 1856 to 1875 to the Dippoldiswalde court office, then to the office of the same name . In 1900 the area of the district was 640 hectares . In 1925, the population of Reinholdshain was divided into 417 Evangelical Lutheran residents and three Catholics . Reinholdshain was parish to Dippoldiswalde and Reinhardtsgrimma. In 1952, the place became part of the Dippoldiswalde district , which emerged from the administration. In 1994 Reinholdshain was incorporated into Dippoldiswalde. The district of Dippoldiswalde and the district of Freital merged in the same year and from then on formed the Weißeritzkreis , to which Reinholdshain belonged until the merger with the district of Saxon Switzerland to form the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains.
