Niederfrauendorf is a district of the Saxon town of Glashütte in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .

Niederfrauendorf is located in the valley of the Lockwitzbach , about six kilometers northwest of Glashütte in the Eastern Ore Mountains .

history
In 1494 the place was first mentioned as "Nieder Frawendorff", in 1545 the row village Niederfrauendorf belonged to the Dohna care , from 1548 to the Pirna office . The basic rule was in 1551 at the manor Luchau . In memory of the Reformation in Saxony, a Reformation oak was planted in 1839 for the 300th anniversary. From 1856 to 1875 Niederfrauendorf belonged to the Dippoldiswalde judicial office , and then to the Dippoldiswalde administration . In 1900 the area of the district was 306 hectares . In 1925 the population was divided into 213 Evangelical Lutheran and 2 Catholics . The place was parish after Reinhardtsgrimma . In 1952 Niederfrauendorf became part of the Dippoldiswalde district as an independent municipality, which became part of the Weißeritz district in 1994 . In the same year Niederfrauendorf was combined with the neighboring Oberfrauendorf to form the new municipality of Frauendorf and in 1995 incorporated into Reinhardtsgrimma. Reinhardtsgrimma merged with Glashütte on January 2, 2008, since then Niederfrauendorf has been a district of the city and in August 2008 it became part of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district formed from the Saxon Switzerland and Weißeritz district .
A quarry with a tunnel entrance to the south of the village is evidence of the tin ore mining that used to be carried out on the Frauenberg .
