Schlottwitz is a district of the Saxon town of Glashütte in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .

Schlottwitz is located about four kilometers northeast of Glashütte in the Eastern Ore Mountains . The place is in the valley of the Müglitz , into which the Schlottwitzbach flows.

The first documentary mention was on May 14th, 1404, when the village Slatewiez , next to the localities Cunnersdorf Conradsdorff , Oberfrauendorf Oberfrawendorff and Hoenwalde, was granted by Margrave Wilhelm I (Meißen) the Tyczemann von Grunenrode and Renczen von Grimme (Reinhardtsgrimma). In 1548 the row village Schlottwitz belonged to the Pirna office . The basic rule was in 1551 at the manor Reinhardtsgrimma . From 1856 to 1875, Schlottwitz belonged to the Dippoldiswalde court office , then to the Dippoldiswalde administration . In 1900 the area of ​​the district was 104 hectares . The population was divided into 414 Evangelical Lutheran and 4  Catholics in 1925 . The place was parish to Maxen and partly to Glashütte . In 1950 Oberschlottwitz was incorporated, in 1952 Schlottwitz became part of the Dippoldiswalde district as an independent municipality, which became part of the Weißeritz district in 1994 . On July 1, 1995, Schlottwitz was incorporated as the third district after Glashütte. In August 2008, Schlottwitz became part of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district formed from the Saxon Switzerland and Weißeritzkreis districts .

The stops at Niederschlottwitz and Oberschlottwitz are on the Heidenau – Kurort Altenberg railway , which is served by the regional train (RB 72) and the regional express (RE 19). The route runs mainly in the Müglitztal and has also been supported by bus line 372 since 2019.
