Local history

Cunnersdorf was founded by Franconian settlers. The first documentary mention was on April 14, 1404 in a loan letter as Conradsdorff . A settler named Conrad is named as the founder of the place, the locator. The places Oberfrauendorf , Hoenwalde and Schlottwitz are also mentioned for the first time in the loan letter . In the 17th century the western part of the town paid its taxes to the Maxen manor and the eastern part of Cunnersdorf to the Reinhardtsgrimma manor .

Between the 15th and 19th centuries, intensive mining was carried out in the Hirtenwiesen (near Glashütte ), initially mining iron ore, from 1458 on silver ore. 42 treasure troves can be identified.

In 1777 a school was first mentioned in the village. The kindergarten is located in today's school building, which was built in 1846 and expanded in 1927.

Until around 1912, the Mühle brickworks with its mining area and kiln was located on the "Ziegeleiwiese", approx. 500 m on the left in the direction of Cunnersdorfer Linde. Mainly bricks were made, the 5 finger spread was striking. Many buildings in Glashütte and Cunnersdorf were built from mud bricks.

With the municipal reform in 1995, Cunnersdorf lost its independence and became a district of Reinhardtsgrimma . With the merger of the community Reinhardtsgrimma and the city of Glashütte on January 2, 2008, Cunnersdorf became a district of Glashütte.
