Johnsbach is a district of the Saxon town of Glashütte in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .

Johnsbach is about five kilometers southwest of Glashütte in the Eastern Ore Mountains . In the east lies the Müglitztal, which is traversed by the eponymous river, the Müglitz . The Kleinhain desert is located in the corridor of Johnsbach .

history

The forest hoof village Johnsbach is said to have been founded around 1200 and had a district of Bärenhecke to the east . In 1406 Johnsbach was part of the Dohna nursing home and from 1548 to the Pirna office . The basic rule practiced the Manor Naundorf , Bärenstein and Polenz made. From 1856 to 1875 Johnsbach belonged to the Lauenstein court office , then to the Dippoldiswalde administration . The place had its own parish church. In 1900 the area of ​​the district was 1092 hectares . In 1925, the population of Johnsbach was divided into 751 Evangelical Lutheran residents and seven Catholics . In 1952 Johnsbach became part of the Dippoldiswalde district , which in 1994 became part of the Weißeritz district . In the same year Johnsbach and its district Bärenhecke were incorporated into Glashütte. In August 2008, Johnsbach became part of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district formed from the Saxon Switzerland and Weißeritz districts .
