List of honorary citizens of Zwickau
Honorary citizens of Zwickau are determined by the Zwickau city council.
The statute on honors and awards of the city of Zwickau stipulates in its paragraph 2:
“The city council can refer to people who have influenced the development of the city of Zwickau in an outstanding manner and over a long period of time and who have thus achieved special merits, as well as people who through their commitment and outstanding work for the city of Zwickau and its citizens have achieved a long-term noticeable improvement in living conditions and / or have contributed to increasing the reputation of the city of Zwickau at home and / or abroad, conferring honorary citizenship. "
According to paragraph 7 of the statutes, honorary citizenship expires upon death or through revocation for an important reason.
