Oberpöbel is a district of the Saxon large district town Dippoldiswalde in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains .
geography
Oberpöbel is about six kilometers south of Schmiedeberg in the Eastern Ore Mountains on the state road 183 to Rehefeld-Zaunhaus (City of Altenberg ). The Wilde Weißeritz flows west of Oberpöbel and is then dammed into the Lehnmühle dam.

history
In 1598 Oberpöbel was part of the Altenberg district as a district of Schellerhau . From 1834 the place belonged to Schönfeld. From 1856 to 1875, Oberpöbel belonged to the Dippoldiswalde court office , then to the Dippoldiswalde district administration . In 1842 the area of the district was 41 hectares . In 1952, Oberpöbel became part of the Dippoldiswalde district , which became part of the Weißeritz district in 1994 . In 1996 Schönfeld and Oberpöbel were incorporated into Schmiedeberg. In August 2008, Oberpöbel became part of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district formed from the Saxon Switzerland and Weißeritz districts . Oberpöbel has been part of Dippoldiswalde since January 1, 2014.
