Ernst Wibel

Ernst Wibel (* 1802 ; † 1863 ) was a German lawyer and parliamentarian.

Life

Ernst Wibel was the younger son of the Oldenburg government director in the Principality of Lübeck Ludwig Conrad Leopold Wibel (1768–1831). The later member of the state parliament Wilhelm Wibel (1800–1864) was his brother. The two brothers were differentiated in official publications as Wibel I (Wilhelm) and Wibel II (Ernst). His sister Maria Amalia Anna (1798–1833) married the Oldenburg Higher Government Councilor Ernst Hellwag (1780–1862).

He studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . In 1822 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . In 1825 he joined the Corps Brunsviga Göttingen . After completing his studies, he was initially an attorney and then a senior court attorney in Schwartau in the Principality of Lübeck .

From 1848 to 1849 and from 1851 to 1852 Wibel was a member of the Oldenburg State Parliament .
