Ernst von Schimmelmann

Count Ernst von Schimmelmann-Ahrensburg (born May 14, 1820 in Altona , † July 2, 1885 at Ahrensburg Castle ) was a large German landowner.

Life

Ernst von Schimmelmann was a great-grandson of Heinrich Carl von Schimmelmann . He studied at the Universities of Heidelberg and Kiel . In 1840 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . In 1841 he joined the Corps Slesvico-Holsatia Kiel . After completing his studies, he became the owner of Fideikommiss Schloss Ahrensburg and Lindenborg Castle near Aalborg in North Jutland . He was titled Real Privy Councilor, and was addressed Excellency . From 1867 until his death in 1885, von Schimmelmann was a member of the Prussian manor house .

With his wife Adelaide von Schimmelmann geb. von Lützerode (sister of Olga von Lützerode ), he had a. a. the daughter Adeline von Schimmelmann .

The daughter Fanny (1846-1918) was married to August zu Solms-Wildenfels .
