Ernst von Wittich

Ernst Christian Wittich , von Wittich from 1876 (born December 22, 1835 in Bodelshausen , † June 19, 1922 in Stuttgart ), was a German Protestant clergyman, prelate and general superintendent of Tübingen .

Life

Wittich studied theology and completed his vicariate with his father in Kuppingen . In 1864 the doctorate to Dr. phil. In 1872 he became court chaplain and extraordinary member of the Evangelical Consistory as senior consistorial councilor . In 1873 he also became a delegate to the ministerial department for scholarly and secondary schools in the department of churches and schools in the Kingdom of Württemberg . In 1879 he became a full member of the constituency before he was appointed prelate and general superintendent of Tübingen in 1891 .

When he was appointed general superintendent, Wittich became a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Württemberg estates and remained there until he retired in December 1905. From 1895 he was also a member of the disciplinary court for evangelical clergy.

Wittich was a member of the Württemberg Gustav-Adolf-Verein from 1880 to 1892 , as well as a member of the commission of the Stuttgart Bible Institute . In 1894/95 he was also chairman of the Association for Christian Art .
