Ernstfeld is a district of Kirchenthumbach , a market in the Upper Palatinate district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab in Bavaria .

Geographical location

Ernstfeld is about 1.5 km south of Kirchenthumbach . It is located on the southern edge of the Northern Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park and borders directly to the north on the Grafenwöhr military training area . Ernstfeld lies in a depression, surrounded by fields and forest sections. The so-called Brünnlebach , which feeds several small ponds, flows through the area of ​​the district .

Architectural and site monuments

In the area of Ernstfeld there is the archeological site monument Burg Ernstfeld , of which a tower hill is still preserved.
