Erol Ceylan

Erol Ceylan (born April 10, 1972 in Hamburg ) is a German boxing promoter .

Life

Ceylan practiced the martial arts Taekwondo as a teenager . He grew up in the Hamburg district of Wilhelmsburg , where his father owned a grocery store. He was a member of a youth gang, some of his colleagues slipped into the drug milieu, Ceylan said he stayed away from it: “I've always hated drugs. Most of all, I despise those who sell drugs and thus earn money from the misery of others, ”he told Hamburger Abendblatt in 2017 . His future wife Alexandra brought him out of this difficult environment.

At the age of 20, Ceylan went into business for himself, ran a bakery with his brother, and later set up a haulage company that operates across Europe. In 2006 he co-founded the company Toreador Drinks GmbH, with which he produced and sold beverages. His company sponsored professional boxing events, among other things, and Ceylan was temporarily advising professional football players before he founded the boxing stable EC Boxing (EC Boxpromotion GmbH & Co. KG) in 2009. There were also real estate deals.

His boxing stable signed other boxers like Alexander Dimitrenko , Gökalp Özekler , Michael Wallisch , Alexander Alekseev , Adrian Granat , Odlanier Solis , Igor Mikhalkin, Christian Hammer , Mario Daser , Sefer Seferi, Karo Murat and Sebastian Formella . Oktay Urkal was the head coach of his Hamburg-based boxing stable until December 2014 , and Bülent Baser was his successor . Even Jürgen Blin one of the trainers. Ceylan was named Promoter of the Year 2016 and 2017 by the Association of German Professional Boxers .
