The Escalante River is an approximately 145 km long tributary of the Colorado River in the south of the US state of Utah . It rises in the west of Garfield County , flows at Escalante through the Dixie National Forest , then east through the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument until it flows into the Colorado River.
