Esko Mömmö (born July 12, 1930 in Rovaniemi ) is a former Finnish ski jumper .

Career

Mömmö made his international debut at the Four Hills Tournament in 1953/54 . After he skipped the jumping in Oberstdorf , he surprised on the Great Olympic Hill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with third place and thus his first podium. After another good seventh place in Innsbruck on the Bergiselschanze he skipped the jumping in Bischofshofen again and only came 15th in the overall ranking. Even before the tour, Mömmö had achieved sixth place at the Lahti Ski Games in 1953 and won the silver medal behind Matti Pietikäinen at the Finnish Championships in the same year .

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1954 in Falun he reached the individual jump with jumps on 73 and 75 meters, where he fell in the first jump, tied with the Austrian Albin Plank, 47th place.

In 1956 his successes were filmed together with other ski jumpers in the short documentary Suomalainen mäenlasku .
