Esmeralda Barros

Esmeralda Barros (actually Esmerlinda de Barros ; born September 4, 1944 in Ilhéus ; † October 10, 2019 in Rio de Janeiro ) was a Brazilian actress .

Life

Barros, a mulatto woman, began her professional career as a night club dancer for Carlos Machado . In 1964 she was runner-up in a local beauty contest, which got her enough attention to receive film offers in her home country and then from Italy, where she was cast as a pretty exotic woman in pure commercial products. For a little over a decade, she starred for the big screen and in a few television series. In 1976 she was in "Homem", which shortly thereafter became the Brazilian edition of Playboy .

She ended her career in the late 1970s (with two short-term exceptions) and lived in Rio de Janeiro , where she started a family.
