The Española Cove ( Spanish Caleta Española , Spanish Bay ' ) is a small side bay of the South Bay on the south coast of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the west side of the Hurd Peninsula , it is located immediately north of Juan Carlos I Station between Polish Bluff and Johnsons Dock .
Aerial photographs were taken between 1956 and 1957 during the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition . Spanish scientists named it in 1991. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this name into English in 2003.
