The international success of this sex film forerunner brought Essy Persson on the one hand worldwide fame overnight, but on the other hand led to the Gothenburg woman now being committed to revealing, sensual and male-devouring seducers and amazons. In 1966 she received the female lead from Italy in the failed Perry Rhodan product Perry Rhodan - SOS from space , the following year from Germany she played the part of the ice-cold gangster bride Betty in Rolf Olsen's trashy criminal story The Rasthaus der Cruel Puppen . In 1967 she was offered the role of young Therese, who in the thematically speculative, but very cautiously implemented film Therese and Isabell, wistfully looks back on her lesbian relationship with her boarding school lover in France , Isabell. She shot this US production in English.

Essy Persson's international career ended as quickly as it began after starring in the British horror film The Witches ' Death Cry , where she starred alongside Vincent Price and Elisabeth Bergner . Since the beginning of the 1970s, the actress has only appeared in Swedish films. She gained a certain popularity in 1970 with her Maj-Britt in the television series Söderkåkar . After her part in another TV series, Ett köpmanshus i skärgården , Essy Persson largely withdrew from the acting industry in 1973. Instead, she began studying at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste and attended Konstfack from 1981 to 1984 . Since then she has been working as a visual artist.
