action

Dr. Wester seems to have failed: deported to the provinces, separated from his wife and child, he is surrounded by the aura of a man who could have made progress. In the hospital in which he is now chief physician, his love affairs with the patients do not remain hidden, he is also a masochist and is in cahoots with the head nurse when it comes to letting someone die earlier ...

One day, a young woman is admitted who is extravagant, addicted to gambling and has a falling out with her father and sister. She has had a mysterious car accident - apparently the brake hoses were deliberately damaged, leading to a collision with another car - and soon afterwards she is found murdered with a scalpel after she also got involved with the chief doctor. Who is the culprit?

Two police officers who are initially only concerned with solving the traffic offense, finally also take on the murder case. However, the police cannot prevent the fall of the window of the doctor who tried to kill his wife in this way. So the doctor himself - and not his wife - found death. And although all threads with Dr. Wester run together, the policemen grope in the dark until the end of the film - and so do the audience. The final picture shows a suddenly cracking close-up of the doctor's young daughter.

Reviews

The evangelical film observer draws the following conclusion: "Unsuccessful psychological crime thriller [...]: the viewer is neither informed about the acts nor about the motives for the crime. Therefore: despite a few merits without a recommendation. ”The lexicon of international films comes to a similar assessment :“ Half-baked mixture of horror and crime film, staged with unsafe taste. ”
