The Estádio José Arcanjo is a football stadium with a cinder track in the Portuguese city of Olhão , Faro district , in the Algarve region . It opened in 1984. The football club SC Olhanense plays its home games here. The SC lost the opening game 4-0 to Portimonense SC . The sports facility offers 5,661 seats. It consists of two stands along the pitch; which are both uncovered.

When SC Olhanense rose to the first division in the mid- 1970s , they began to think about a new stadium, as the Estádio Padinha , which opened in 1923, was out of date. The wealthy Arcanjo family from Olhão gave the association the land for construction. Construction began in the 1970s, but was not completed until 1984.
