The Estadio Fiscal de Talca is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Chilean city of Talca , Región del Maule . It is the home of the Rangers de Talca as well as the Pride Rangers .

history

The facility was opened in 1937 with 17,000 seats. In the period from 2009 to 2011 it was completely renovated and since then has space for 8,324 spectators. In 2009, the renovation of the stadium began until the violent earthquake of 2010 forced drastic changes to the construction plans, which endangered the implementation of the project. The authorities finally released the modifications. By equipping it with seats, the capacity was reduced from 17,000 to 8,200 spectators. In addition, new changing rooms, a VIP lounge and a new floodlight system were built and roof conversions were carried out. The field was equipped with a new lawn. There is also the possibility of expanding the stadium to a capacity of 12,000 spectators, which would meet the FIFA criteria.

The stadium was one of the venues for the 2015 U-17 World Cup . There were six preliminary round and one quarter-final match.

As part of the 2017 South American U17 championship , six Group B games were played in the Talca stadium.

Expansion plans

In 2018 [obsolete] the stadium is again to be converted into one of the most modern sports facilities in the country with funds from the National Fund for Regional Development. The capacity is to be increased to 16,000 visitors. The stadium is to have roofed seats on three sides. In addition, public toilets and business premises are to be built. The access and evacuation routes are to be renewed and the parking facilities are to be expanded. Due to the expansion area of 1,734 square meters, the total construction size will be 5,264 square meters. The total cost was calculated at 8.334 billion pesos .
