The Estadio Rommel Fernández is a football stadium with an athletics facility in Panama City , Central American , which is mainly used for football matches.
history
It was built as the Estadio Revolución for the 11th Central American and Caribbean Games in 1970 and put into service on February 6 of that year. In 1993 the stadium got its current name. He commemorates Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez who was killed in a car accident on May 6, 1993 . He was the first footballer in his country to play in a European professional league, the Spanish Primera División . Between 2006 and 2010 the sports facility was completely renovated, expanded by 15,000 seats and now offers visitors 32,000 seats including the 126 boxes .
The stadium is part of the Ciudad Deportiva Irving Saladino.
