Esther Chebet (born September 10, 1997 ) is a Ugandan athlete who specializes in the middle distance .

Career

Esther Chebet gained her first international experience in 2015 at the Junior African Championships in Addis Ababa , where she finished sixth in the 800-meter run in 2: 22.70 minutes. The following year she reached the semi-finals at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where she was eliminated with 2: 05.47 minutes. In 2017 she qualified in the 1500 meter run for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated with 4: 14.12 minutes in the lead -up. At the 2019 World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus , she finished 14th after 37:36 minutes and secured the bronze medal in the team standings. In August she took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time, where she finished fifth over 1500 meters in 4: 21.04 minutes.
