Estrela is a city on the banks of the Rio Taquari in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul (southern Brazil). In 2006 the city had a population of 29,564 people.
history
When the first colonists came to the city, they noticed a strong light in a swamp . In reality it was the reflection of the full moon , which looked like a meteor to them , which is why the city was called "Estrela", which means "star".
