Etienne Nguyên Nhu Thê
Etienne Nguyên Nhu Thê ( Stêphanô Nguyễn Như Thể ; born December 1, 1935 in Quảng Trị ) is retired Archbishop of Huế .
Life
Etienne Nguyên Nhu Thê received the on January 6, 1962 ordination and was in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Hue incardinated . Pope Paul VI appointed him on September 7, 1975 titular archbishop pro hac vice of Tipasa in Mauretania and coadjutor archbishop of Huế.
The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop of Huế, Philippe Nguyên-Kim-Diên PFJ , on September 7th of the same year; Co - consecrators were Pierre Marie Pham-Ngoc-Chi , Bishop of Đà Nẵng , and François Xavier Nguyên Quang Sách , coadjutor bishop of Đà Nẵng.
He resigned from his office on November 23, 1983. Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Huế on March 1, 1998. On August 18, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
