The Etrachsee is a lake in the Austrian municipality of Krakau in the Murau district in Styria . It is located at 1,374 meters above sea level in the Krakautal , a high plateau of the Schladminger Tauern .
The approximately 4 meter deep lake is traversed by the Etrachbach. This has its source north of the lake, it flows in a north-south direction and flows into the Rantenbach on the left in Krakow .
The lake has a natural population of brown trout , lake char , brook trout and rainbow trout .
