Carl Eugen Hummel (born November 21, 1812 in Vienna , † after 1845 ) was an Austrian portrait and genre painter.

Life

Hummel was a son of the Viennese portrait painter Carl Hummel (around 1769–1840). In 1829 he began studying at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts . As early as 1831 - at the age of 19 - he exhibited a few pictures there for the first time, also in the years 1834 to 1845. Portraits of the painter Johann Josef Schindler as well as the singer Sabine Heinefetter and the singer Franz Wild , which were exhibited in 1834, are known by name.

After 1845, the trace of Eugen Hummel is lost.
