Eugene Kedl

Eugen Kedl (* 1933 in Stadtschlaining , Austria ; † March 9, 2008 ) was a Canadian photographer .

Eugen Kedl, brother of the sculptor Rudolf Kedl , came from Stadtschlaining in Burgenland. After an apprenticeship as a photographer in Pinkafeld and Vienna , he emigrated to Québec in 1954 . He made a career as a photographer there. He was married and had four children.

Kedl was honored with the Order of Canada and the Médaille de la ville de Québec . In 2007 he was named “Austrian Abroad of the Year”. He was a member of Richelieu international (Clubs Richelieu) since 1967 and its president in Québec in 1998. He was also the founder of the Great Vienna Ball in Québec.
