Eugene Paul

Eugen Paul (born May 3, 1932 in Heilbronn ; † February 16, 1995 in Augsburg ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian.

Life

The second child of the engineer Wilhelm Paul and his wife Josepha studied Catholic theology at the University of Tübingen from 1951 to 1955 . After his ordination on June 17, 1956, he was vicar from 1956 to 1962 . In 1962 he became youth chaplain and head of the Michaelsberg youth center in Cleebronn . From 1964 to 1969 he was assistant for Catholic theology and religious education at the PH Weingarten . After obtaining his doctorate in 1969 at the University of Munich under Heinrich Fries , he became a lecturer in Catholic theology and religious education at the PH Weingarten on October 1, 1969 (since September 9, 1970 civil servant for life). On April 1, 1972 he became associate professor for education and catechetics at the Philosophical-Theological University of Passau . On March 1, 1974 he became professor for religious education at the Catholic-Theological Department of the University of Augsburg .
