Günter Stachel

Günter Stachel (born June 25, 1922 in Leipzig , † June 16, 2013 in Mainz ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

He studied theology at the Paderborn Theological Faculty and at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1961 he was appointed professor for Catholic theology and religious education at the Weingarten University of Education . He taught at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main from 1970 to 1972. In 1971 he was offered the newly established chair for religious education, catechetics and didactics of religious instruction at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . He retired in 1990. From 1973 to 1990 he was chairman of the working group of Catholic Catechetics Lecturers.
