Eugen Schmidt (judge)

Eugen Schmidt (born November 19, 1834 in Zweibrücken ; † before 1929) was a German judge .

Life

After attending the Herzog-Wolfgang-Gymnasium in Zweibrücken, the son of an oil miller and businessman studied law a. a. in Würzburg and Heidelberg. He was protestant. In 1857 he was sworn in to the Bavarian sovereign. In 1861 he came to Kandel as a supplementary judge and in 1862 to Zweibrücken. In 1863 he went to Frankenthal as a functioning state procurator's substitute. In 1866 he was promoted to regional court assessor, and in January 1867 to district court assessor in Landau. In September 1867 he was appointed a substitute public prosecutor. In 1868 he was appointed district judge in Winnweiler . In 1870 he became a district judge in Frankenthal. In 1871 he was transferred to Kaiserslautern and appointed commercial judge. In 1872 he came to Kaiserslautern as first public prosecutor. In 1877 he was promoted to appellate judge and in 1879 to higher regional judge. In 1886 he became a councilor at the Bavarian Supreme Court . In 1886 he was appointed to the Imperial Court. He was in the I. and III. Criminal Senate active. He retired on January 1, 1901.
