Eugene Volz

Eugen Volz (* 2. March 1932 in Tübingen ; † 19th May 2019 ) was a German lawyer and politician of the CDU .

Volz went to school in Bad Mergentheim , where he graduated from high school there. He then studied law at the Universities of Würzburg , Munich and Tübingen . In 1952 he became a member of the WKSt.V. Unitas Markomannia in Tübingen. He took his state examinations in 1956 and 1960. In 1958 he received his doctorate. jur.

His political career began in 1954 when he joined the CDU. From 1965 to 1969 he was a consultant for the Defense Commissioner of the German Bundestag Matthias Hoogen , then Volz worked for the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , to which he himself moved in 1972 as a member.

In 1978, Prime Minister Lothar Späth brought him into the state government , but as political state secretary in the Ministry of Justice he had no seat and no vote in the cabinet. Volz held this office after the state elections in 1980, 1984 and 1988. In 1991 he moved to the Ministry of Finance in the first cabinet of Prime Minister Erwin Teufel in the same position . After the state elections in 1992, Volz was no longer a member of the state parliament and he gave up his post as state secretary. He then served as President of the State Office for Communication Baden-Württemberg (LfK) until 1996. Werner Baumhauer was succeeded as State Secretary .
