Eugene Wormit

Eugen Wormit (born January 7, 1871 in Rettauen , East Prussia ; † October 22, 1927 there ) was a German landowner and politician ( DNVP ).

Life and work

Wormit was born the son of a landowner. After attending the Royal High School in Bartenstein , he took up a job in agriculture in 1887 and received preliminary training on the Mertensdorf and Blankenau estates. From 1897 to 1916 he was tenant of the Bögen and Stoden estates in the Friedland district . In 1907 he took over the management of the family estate in Rettauen .

How did he do military service before he was discharged from the army as a reserve officer of the infantry in 1904 after a serious accident. From 1915 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a war volunteer . During the war he was used as a company commander and officer for guarding prisoners, most recently as captain of the reserve. From 1920 to 1922 he was chairman of the East Prussian Land Association , then deputy chairman of the East Prussian Agricultural Association.

MP

Wormit was a member of the Prussian Landtag from 1921 to 1924 . In the Reichstag election in May 1924 he was elected to the German Reichstag , to which he belonged until his death.
