Eugene Holiday
Eugene Bernard Holiday (born December 14, 1962 in Philipsburg ) is a Dutch politician. He is the governor of Sint Maarten , an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands .
Life
Eugene Holiday graduated from Milton Peter College (MPC) in South Reward in 1979 and graduated from Canisius Catholic College in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, in 1982 . He studied at the Catholic University of Brabant in Tilburg . He completed his studies in 1987 with a doctorate in economics .
He then worked for the Bank van de Nederlandse Antillen in Curaçao until 1995 . In 1995 he was appointed to head a task force that set up a stimulus package to repair the damage caused by Hurricane Luis . From 1995 to 1998 he was General Manager of the airline Winair . From 1998 to 2010 he was in charge of Princess Juliana International Airport .
As an athlete, Eugene Holiday represented Sint Maarten in the sports of baseball and pool .

After the Netherlands Antilles were dissolved in 2010 , Sint Maarten received the status of an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The head of state is the King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander . He is represented in Sint Maarten by a governor. Eugene Holiday became the first governor of Sint Maarten on October 10, 2010.
