Eugene James Martin
Eugene James Martin (born July 24, 1938 in Washington, DC , † January 1, 2005 in Lafayette , Louisiana , USA ) was an American artist of the constructed, "pure" and lyrical abstract painting, collage and hand drawing . Part of his graphic work consists of glyphs of unpublished meaning, which he realized in ink on napkins and which he later bound in his collages.
His considerable oeuvre of paintings and drawings is placed in many private art collections around the world and in art museums .
