Eugene Colonel
Eugene Oberst (born July 23, 1901 in Owensboro , † May 30, 1991 in Cleveland ) was an American athlete who was active as a javelin thrower in the early 1920s .
At the VII Summer Olympic Games in Paris in 1924 he won the bronze medal with 58.35 m behind the Finn Jonni Myyrä (gold with 62.96 m) and the Swede Gunnar Lindström (silver with 60.62 m).
In addition, Eugene Oberst is listed as the Notre Dame NCAA champion of 1921 (width: 191-2). Further services from him are not documented. His name does not appear in the lists of participants in the US championships of those years.
