Eugenijus Kanevičius

Eugenijus Kanevičius (* 1959 ) is a Lithuanian jazz musician ( double bass , also trumpet, bass guitar, composition).

Live and act

From the mid-1980s, Kanevičius belonged to the Dixieland band Vilniaus Diksilendas , with which the first recordings were made. In the 1990s he played in the Skirmantas Sasnauskas Jazz Quartet and in the Lithuanian Art Orchestra ( Waltz Atto , 1993, with Vladimir Tarasov ). Since the 2000s he has belonged a. a. the Egidijus Buožis Quartet, the Labutis Jazz Quartet around Vytautas Labutis and the Petro Vyšniausko Džiazo Trio; he also took part in the recordings of Mats Gustafsson ( The Vilnius Explosion , 2008).

With Vytautas Labutis Kanevičius presented the duo album Concerto Grosso (Juosta Records) in 2005 ; with Liudas Mockūnas and Dalius Naujokaitis the live recording was made by Kablys: Live at 11:20 , published by NoBusiness Records (2010). In a trio with Liudas Mockūnas and Vladimir Tarasov, the album Intuitus followed (NoBusiness Records, 2016). Tom Lord lists ten recording sessions in the field of jazz from 1986 to 2014. He also wrote a number of film scores.
