Eugeniusz Ryb
Eugeniusz Ryb ( Russian Евгений Августович Рыб Yevgeny Awgustowitsch Ryb , Ukrainian Євген Августович Риб Yevhen Awhustowytsch Ryb ; born July 1 . Jul / 13. July 1859 . Greg in Warsaw ; † 15. March 1924 ) was a Polish - Ukrainian composer , violinist , Conductor and music teacher .
Life
Ryb studied at the Warsaw Music Institute in Apolinary Kątski's violin class with a degree. This was followed by studies at the St. Petersburg Conservatory in Leopold von Auer's violin class (graduation in 1883) and in Nikolai Rimski-Korsakov's composition theory class (graduation in 1885).
From 1885 Ryb taught composition theory at the Kiev Music Academy of the department of the Russian Music Society there . Reinhold Glière , Kyrylo Stezenko , Oleksandr Koschyz and Wladimir Pohl were among his students . In 1913 the Kiev Conservatory split off from the Kiev Conservatory , where Ryb now taught as a professor. He played in a string quartet and every year in two chamber music series . He conducted the symphony concerts of the Russian Music Society. In addition to chamber music works and music theory textbooks, he created the opera Branka , the symphonic picture Night over Ukraine and ten Masurks for piano .
