EuroFlorist is a Swedish group of companies that includes service companies for the mediation of flowers, bouquets and flower arrangements , similar to the Fleurop system.

history

The company was founded in 1982 in Malmö by Peter Jungbeck under the name Svensk Blomsterförmedling (Swedish flower mediation) and renamed EuroFlorist Sverige AB in 1990 . EuroFlorist opened its first consumer website in August 1995, making it the first company in Sweden to sell flowers over the Internet. From 2004 to 2007 Euroflorist was majority owned by the Swedish private equity company Accent Equity Partners. Since September 2007, the Swedish private equity company Litorina Kapital AB has held 59% of the shares. Founder Peter Jungbeck resigned as CEO in September 2008, and was succeeded by Lars Höglund, who has also been Vice President of Teleflor since September 2009.

Structure and market position

With more than 10,000 affiliated florists, the Euroflorist Group is currently the market leader in flower placement systems in Europe. In Germany, Euroflorist is currently number two behind Fleurop . The Swedish parent company Euroflorist Sverige AB has independently operating subsidiaries in Austria , Belgium , Luxembourg , Denmark , France , Germany , Norway , Poland , Sweden and the Netherlands . On May 25, 2010, Euroflorist merged with eFlorist. The group is part of the global flower agency network Teleflor International , in which over 54,000 florists are currently involved. Euroflorist is the largest contract broker in the Teleflor network.

The group's turnover in 2006 was around 630 million Swedish kronor and in 2009 around 920 million SEK.

Euroflorist Germany

The subsidiary Euroflorist Deutschland GmbH, founded in 2001, is based in Plön ( Schleswig-Holstein ). The managing director is Olaf Scott. In 2005, Euroflorist took over the second largest flower agency in Germany, Teleflor Welt Blumendienst. Another expansion in Germany in 2009 was the Internet portal BlumenOnline.de with more than 3900 affiliated floristic specialist shops.
