The 13th Eurofest took place on February 16, 2018 and was the Belarusian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon (Portugal). Alekseev emerged as the winner with his song Forever .

concept

format

As in previous years, there should be a national final as a preliminary decision. This took place on February 16, 2018, where up to 15 participants should take part. The winner was again determined 50% by televoting and 50% by jury voting.

Choice of contribution

From December 1, 2017 to December 26, 2017, interested parties could apply for the preliminary round. Anyone could apply, and foreign performers and composers were invited to submit contributions.

A jury then invited all applicants to the live auditions . These could be followed live on the Internet. Eleven participants were identified from this process.

The winner of the Belarusian preliminary decision: Alekseev

On January 11, 2018, BTRC published the eleven participants in the Belarusian preliminary decision. Sophia Lapina withdrew her post Gravity in protest on January 16, 2018, because the Russian-language version of the song Forever by her comrade Alekseev had already appeared before September 1, 2017, which is prohibited according to the ESC rules. She also felt it was unfair that the broadcaster BTRC Alekseev continues to compete with his song, even though six participants have spoken out in favor of disqualification. Thus, instead of eleven participants, only the following ten participants took part:
