The European prehistory and early history (also: European prehistory and early history ) deals with the prehistory and the early history of the cultural-historical development of man in Europe from the beginnings to the beginning of the High Middle Ages.

European prehistory and early history cover an enormous period of time. It begins with the first colonization of Europe in the Paleolithic about 1 million years ago and ends around 1050 AD with the beginning of the European High Middle Ages .
