Eustáquio van Lieshout SSCC (real name: Hubert van Lieshout ) (born November 3, 1890 in Aarle-Rixtel , Netherlands , † August 30, 1943 in Belo Horizonte , Brazil ) was a Dutch religious priest who worked for a long time in Brazil and there Gained notoriety. He was beatified by the Catholic Church in 2006 .

Life

After reading a biography by Damian de Veuster , Hubert van Lieshout joined the order of the Arnstein Fathers in 1905 , took the religious name Eustachius and was ordained a priest in 1919 . He initially worked in Belgium until he was sent to a mission in Brazil in 1925. As a pastor in various areas, he was able to convert many people. He cured many of diseases, which soon resulted in masses attending his holy masses . His superiors became suspicious and in 1942 sent him to Belo Horizonte as pastor , where he died on August 30, 1943.

Eustaquio Van Lieshout was born on 15 June 2006 in Minas Gerais , Brazil, beatified . His feast day in the liturgy is August 30th .
