Eva Barlösius

Eva Barlösius (born September 6, 1959 in Hanover ) is a German sociologist . She teaches as a professor of macro-sociology and social structure analysis at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hanover .

Life

After attending school in Hanover , Barlösius studied sociology , political science and nutritional science at the universities of Hanover and Munich from 1978 to 1983 . After the first state examination for vocational school teachers, she was a trainee lawyer at schools in Braunschweig and Salzgitter until the second state examination . In 1988 she became a sociologist at the University of Hanover with a dissertation on eating pleasure as an intrinsic social design principle. The sociology of eating and drinking, the example of grande cuisine of France doctorate . Her habilitation followed there in 1994 .

After four years as an assistant professor, Barlösius first became a professor at the University of Hohenheim and then at the University of Duisburg-Essen . She has been teaching at the University of Hanover since 2007.

Barlösius is a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (Acatech) and co-editor of the journal for agricultural history and agricultural sociology .
