Eva Hassencamp

Eva Maria Hassencamp , née Eva Maria Aab , (born May 24, 1920 in Pforzheim ; † May 23, 2012 in Munich ) was a German director , author , film producer and presenter .

Life

Eva Hassencamp came to Bavaria during the war and lived in Munich since 1943. After 1945 she first studied music at the Trapp Conservatory of Music . In 1949 she married the architect Rudolf Thönnessen. The marriage ended in divorce in 1960. In 1967 she married the writer Oliver Hassencamp . In 1988 Eva Hassencamp survived a car accident with serious injuries in which her husband was fatally injured. After years of hospitalization, she gave up her job. She administered her husband's estate until her death.

She wrote several successful children's books under her maiden name Eva Maria Aab. a. ABC for young people, Petronella and her brothers, animal stories and Knaur's big book of fairy tales. In 1957, Bavarian television offered her to work on the “Family Program” editorial team. She moderated 18 episodes under the title "My Books My Friends," made films for children and adults, wrote scripts and directed dubbing. Eva Hassencamp began making documentaries in 1966 as a freelancer in the “Literary Film Narration” editorial team . Documentaries on painters, writers, actors and artists were produced in-house. The films We Were Unwanted, Writers in Exile, and Reichskristallnacht were shot in America.
