Eva Henning

Eva Henning , born Eva Wetlesen (born May 10, 1920 in Newark , New Jersey , † April 18, 2016 in Oslo ) was a Swedish film and theater actress .

Life and accomplishments

Eva Henning was the daughter of the Norwegian Edgar Voss Wetlesen and the Swede Ragni Frisell. She acquired the surname Henning through her mother's second marriage to the actor Uno Henning . From 1938 to 1940 she attended the drama school of the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm and then appeared in numerous plays and films. Her years with her second husband, the actor and director Hasse Ekman were particularly successful . During this time she also worked in two films by Ingmar Bergman .

After her marriage to the Norwegian actor Toralv Maurstad in 1954, she played on Norwegian stages, from 1968 to 1970 in the Folkteatern in Gothenburg . From the mid-1950s she only appeared sporadically in films, but regularly on the radio.

Eva Henning was married three times, with Jochum Beck-Friis from 1943 to 1946, with Hasse Ekman from 1946 to 1953 and with Toralv Maurstad from 1954 (this marriage was later divorced).
