Eva Wohlgemuth

Eva Wohlgemuth (* 1955 in Bad Vöslau in the Baden near Vienna district ) is an Austrian painter, media and installation artist .

life and work

Wohlgemuth studied from 1974 to 1979 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and worked from 1979 to 1989 as a high school teacher. Since 1995 she has been working as a freelance web designer for Kunstradio - Radio Art and works on art projects in the areas of (multimedia) installation and on the World Wide Web . Eva Wohlgemuth has been teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna since 1997 . She was represented at the documenta X in 1997 .

“In February (1997) I traveled to Monterrey, California to map my body. The x, y, z coordinates of 285,000 body points were recorded. The result is a "body scan" that describes the surface of the body. From now on I exist as a digital data object, also on the Internet. "
