Evangelical Reformed Church in Gruiten
The Evangelical Reformed Church is a listed church building on Pastor-Vömel-Straße in Gruiten in the Mettmann district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). Gruiten has been part of the town of Haan (i. Rhld.) Since 1975 , but ecclesiastically to the Niederberg parish.
History and architecture
The almost square hall building was built from plastered quarry stone between 1720 and 1721 . Two arched portals were built into the forecourt, otherwise the front is divided by three arched windows, the hipped roof is crowned with a lantern . The pulpit and the elaborately carved pulpit stairs, the organ stage and the organ case are from the 18th century.
organ
The technology of the organ was overhauled and modernized in 1991 by the Schuke company. The wooden organ case was attacked by fungus and had to be extensively renovated. A lack of air circulation and insufficient insulation caused condensation to form if the temperature differences were too great.
