Evangelical village church Netzow
The Evangelical village church in Netzow , a district of Plattenburg ( Prignitz district ) in Brandenburg , is a late Gothic stone church.
history
From 1344 until the secularization in 1819 the village Netzow belonged to the cathedral chapter Havelberg , which also initiated the construction of the late Gothic village church in the late 15th century . The west bar-like transverse rectangular west tower made of field stone with brick corners comes almost unchanged from the time of construction . To support the tower, buttresses were added several times later.
In 1884 the church was extended to the east by a recessed rectangular chancel. A stepped gable was added to the former end wall in the east.
In 2008, the church was used as a location for the film The White Ribbon - A German Children's Story by Michael Haneke .
