The Protestant Gnadenkirche is a listed church building in Bergisch Gladbach in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

The yellow whitewashed assembly is essentially an octagonal central building based on the Dutch model. The sovereign permit of 1775 allowed the Reformed to build a church. This was built in 1776 based on a design by Johann Georg Leydel . The rear tower under a tail hood with a lantern and the transverse rectory connected to it with two storeys were built in 1788. The former rectory currently serves as the parish office. The choir is located on the first floor of the tower ; originally the altar , pulpit and organ were arranged one above the other. The central building was stretched towards the entrance side in 1899 under the construction management of O. March and expanded with a column portico . An organ gallery was built into the interior ; this and the organ were renewed during the restoration from 1971 to 1976.
