The Evangelical Church is a listed church building in Winningen in the Mayen-Koblenz district in Rhineland-Palatinate . The Evangelical Church is a protected cultural monument according to the Monument Protection Act (DSchG) and entered in the list of monuments of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is on Kirchstrasse .

history

The previous church was built around 1200 as a three-aisled basilica , of which the Romanesque choir tower and the southern side choir as well as the fan-shaped window of the west facade have been preserved. In 1618 a major renovation was carried out to build a gallery and the vault and roof were replaced. In 1695 the nave was extended and larger windows were used. To enlarge the nave, transept arms were added in 1718 . During a renovation in 1879, the tower was given a diamond roof and the gable. The last major interior renovation took place in 2000.
